The political section of the Embassy, or Chancery, deals with political relations between the UK and Syria.  Chancery is also responsible for bilateral cooperation and development projects between the UK and Syria.
 
The defence section is responsible for all aspects of the military relationship between the UK and Syria, including training and defence diplomacy.
 
The trade and investment section promotes UK trade interests in Syria, providing a wide range of services to both UK and Syrian business people.
 
The consular section provides consular services to British citizens in Syria.  It issues British passports and registers births, deaths and marriages of British subjects in Syria.
